Frost smoke in the Alvdal County
The winter wonderland Østerdalen valley where the river Glomma is
situated can be one of the coldest places in Norway. Today the temperature
was "only" 25 centigrades below freezing. On cold days like this
there is seldom any wind, and no clouds on the sky. A fantastic day! Since
there was no ice on the river here at km 173,5 on the map in the
GLOMMAGUIDE, there was fantastic frost smoke that danced over the water.
In wintertime it is not allowed to fish in the Glomma, but trout, arctic
char and perch will take your bait if you try your luck in one of the many
ice-covered lakes.
