X = Single crystals

XX = Groups of crystals

I am especially interested in minerals from alkaline localities.

Some of the minerals mentioned on my list can be VERY difficult to get, and I might have one or only a few specimens for exchange.
These minerals are written in brown.
I will only trade these minerals if you have minerals (preferably from a Norwegian locality) that
I am especially interested in.

I try to update my exchange list, but some specimens mentioned on my list might no longer be available. Please do not send me any
minerals before you get a respond from me about the availability of the my specimens.

With a few exceptions like gjerdingenite, few of the minerals found in the Gjerdingen area can be said to be estetically beautiful. But
this is still a very interesting area with several unique mineral species.

Yttrofluorite-pegmatites in the Nordland county, Norway

The pegmatites found in this area are in my opinion some of the most interesting localities in Norway for microcollectors and collectors
of rare minerals. It is the second most mineral-rich area in Norway:

Haakonhals (Håkonhals), Hamaroy (Hamarøy), Nordland County.
Hundholmen, Tysfjord, Nordland County.
Lagmannsvik, Hamaroy (Hamarøy), Nordland County.
Stetind, Tysfjord, Nordland County.
Ovre Lapplegeret (Øvre Lapplegeret), Drag, Tysfjord, Nordland County.

Adamsite-(Y) Hundholmen Some fibres of 0,5 mm, clear, acicular XX of adamsite-(Y) on clevage-plane in yttrofluorite. Often with allanite-(Ce) X. For collectors of Norwegian minerals. 063
    Perbøeite-(Ce)          and/or
alnaperbøeite
Stetind As up to 1 mm grains or rough crystals in matrix. The mineral can easily be misidentified with other minerals. It is impossible to say which of the two minerals my specimens are. It could be a perbøeite-(Ce), alnaperbøeite-(Ce), a mixture of the two minerals or intergrown with törnebohmite-(Ce). For systematic collectors.
Britholite-(Y) Stetind Up to 0,5 mm rouonded grains in massive yttrofluorite with orange bastnesite X. For systematic collectors. Britholite-(Y) is much rarer that britholite-(Ce). 019
Britholite-(Y) Ovre Lapplægeret Up to 1 mm brownish, transparent/translucent, rouded grains in massive yttrofluorite. Better quality that the Stetind material. For systematic collectors. 019
   Allanite-(Ce) Hundholmen 0,5 - 2 mm black X in matrix.
Bastnesite-(Ce) Stetind Yellowish-brown, platy, rough X in massive yttrofluorite. Often with reddish-brown hundholmenite-grains.
Bastnesite-(Ce) Ovre Lapplægeret Up to 1 mm rough, orange, transparent/translucent X in massive yttrofluorite. 019
Calcioancylite-(Ce) Stetin 0,5 mm, light lillac, dipyramidal crystals in vuggy areas.
Fergusonite-(Y) Hundholmen 0,1 mm, reddish-brown X in matrix. Hundholmen is the 2nd locality for non-metamict fergusonite-(Y) for this mineral in Norway. 060
   Fluorbritholite-(Y) Lagmannsvik

As 0,5 mm rounded, translucent, light lillac grains and aggregates of grains in massive yttrofluorite. Visual identification of fluorbritholite-(Y) is impossible because of its resemblance to two of the other, rare minerals found at the locality.

Gadolinite-(Y) Hakonhals Up to 0,3 mm, greenish, non-metamict X in grey yttrofluorite with yellow, rough bastnesite X and black allanite grains or crystals. This is one of the few localities in Norway with non-metamict gadolinite. For systematic collectors. 060
Hundholmenite-(Y) Hundholmen 0,5 - 2 mm, brownish grains in gray yttrofluorite. Nice and rich specimens of this rare mineral. My specimens comes from the same small rock that was used for the scientific description of hundholmenite-(Y). 067
   Hundholmenite-(Y) Stetind

0,2 0,5 mm reddish-brown grains of hundholmenite-(Y) grains with rough, yellow bastnesite X in grey, massive yttrofluorite.

061
   Hundholmenite-(Y) Stetind

0,2 0,5 mm reddish-brown, rough X or XX of hundholmenite-(Y)  with rough, yellow bastnesite in grey yttrofluorite.

  Keiviite-(Y) or
keiviite-(Yb)
Stetind As up to 1 mm, greyish, prismatic crystals in a vuggy area. It is impossible to say wether my specimens are (Y) or (Yb). Stetind is the best crystal locality for these minerals. I do also have a vey few terminated crystals of yterbian keiviite-(Y) for exchange if you have something that I am REALLY interested in.
Imoriite-(Y) Øvre Lapplægeret As +- 0,5 mm pink, sharp, transparent crystals in vuggy yttrofluorite.
Kuliokite-(Y) Stetind As +- 0,5 mm greyish pink, sharp, platy crystals in vuggy yttrofluorite. 063
Petscheckite Hakonhals 0,5 cm, pure, black, massive with no matrix. For systematic collectors of rare minerals. 063

Vyuntspakhkite-(Y) Stetind As 0,5 mm brownish, platy crystals in vuggy yttrofluorite. Stetind is the best locality in the World for this mineral.
Xenotime-(Y) Hundholmen 0,5 - 1,5 mm, sharp, good, brownish, often transparent X in yttrofluorite with black allanite-(Ce) XX in matrix. 062

023

A VERY rare mineral. Grey, microscopic crystals in matrix with other minerals. The very rare fluoride bøgvadite might also be present as single grains in or on the specimen. I will only exchange one of my few jørgensenite specimens with other very rare minerals that are of especially interest to me (Norwegian minerals, Greenland minerals, alcaline minerals, very rare worldwide minerals, etc)

Please note: If you get a specimen from me you will probably be dissapointed. Where are the jørgensenite you might ask. It looks like the one on the Mindat photo. The jørgensenite and bøgvadite was found by
analyzing a polished specimen with SEM/EDS. Bøgvadite are probably always present as tiny, white grains somewhere inside the specimens, but you will never be able to see it.

More info about my jørgensenite specimens can be found
by looking at the Mindat photos posted by the Russian mineralogist Pavel Kartashov:
